Your Psychiatry Evaluation and Visits
- Your first psychiatry visit
During your first visit, one of our behavioral health clinicians will evaluate your overall behavioral health needs. He or she also will be your psychiatric care manager for all your psychiatric treatment at Summit Health - Your second psychiatry visit
During your second visit, one of our psychiatry providers will evaluate your need for medication. He or she will prescribe medication if your condition can be treated through our short-term medication program
If You Need Medication
To participate in our short-term medication management service, we require that you have regular meetings with your Summit Health behavioral health clinician. We believe this approach can help coordinate your overall psychiatric care and yield the best possible results.
Our Adult Medication Management Service
Our psychiatry staff provide short-term medication evaluation and treatment services. Our goal is to identify medications that can address your symptoms. Once you are doing well on your medication, we will refer you to your primary care physician or non-Summit Health psychiatrist to provide ongoing medication refills and management.
